Back-to-back defeats today see B8 eliminated from the WePlay! Tug of War: Mad Moon event

WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon continued today with the
first team being eliminated after the group stages. Unfortunately for Danil ‘Dendi’
Ishutin’s B8 squad, they would be the ones to fall at the hands of Gambit
Esports.

Earlier today we witnessed a series between Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin
and Kuro ‘KuroKy’ Salehi Takhasomi in the opening game of the day at WePlay! Dota
2 Tug of War: Mad Moon event. While the series was not an elimination one,
Nigma were easily able to dominate B8, sending the team into the lower bracket
where Gambit Esports were awaiting their challenger. Gambit were able to take
down B8 in a best-of-one matchup just yesterday after the two teams played in
the same group in the tournament’s opening days but with elimination on the
cards, many were hoping that B8 could pull through – especially much of the
home crowd.

While B8 had constantly shown promise throughout their series,
the team could never quite close things out – especially against the likes of
Team Secret, Nigma and Gambit Esports. Even though the team put up some great
defenses at times against most opponents, it was nowhere near enough and with another
0-2 loss for the day, B8 were eliminated from the event, sending Gambit forward
into the lower bracket semi-finals, which will be played tomorrow.

The day is not yet over at the tournament as another massive
series is on the way with Secret and Nigma going head-to-head in the upper
bracket semi-finals, with the losing team dropping into the lower bracket.
