Since the Call of Duty League announced it was moving back to 4v4, the league has been thrown into chaos. The Dallas Empire dropped back-to-back world champion James “Clayster” Eubanks. The London Royal Ravens might have an entirely new team in 2021. Yet to come, though, are the numerous other moves that need to be made to trim rosters down for 4v4. While not much is public, it seems like some of those moves are already in motion. Brandon “Dashy” Otell of OpTic Gaming Los Angeles could be in line to make one of those moves.
Dashy finds a new CDL team for 2021?
It’s no secret that Dashy wants off OpTic Gaming Los Angeles. He had a turbulent year in 2020 and was sent to the bench halfway through the season. Since then, it appears Dashy has been biding his time, waiting for an opportunity to arise.
While we’re not sure if that opportunity did arise yet, Dashy sure did make it sound like it did. In a recent Twitch stream, the assault rifle player mentions about his near slip-ups in regards to speaking about next year.
In the clip, Dashy talks about the next season and post-game interviews. However, at the end of the clip, he mentions how he almost slipped up when talking about 2021. Though it’s not much, it sounds like Dashy has something in the works. This likely doesn’t involve OpTic Gaming, as that roster looks set for the time being. While no one truly knows, many are speculating Dashy is signing with the Chicago Huntsmen.
It all makes sense from a logical point of view. Chicago will likely lose both the Sanderson twins as a part of roster cutdowns and there’s a spot that needs to be filled. With Dashy being able to play as a flex, he could fit nicely alongside Seth “Scump” Abner and Matt “FormaL” Piper. In Black Ops 4, Dashy played with Scump as well, so there’s that connection to add to the mix.
This is all merely speculation though, as there haven’t been any rumors about Dashy’s next move. Signing with Chicago would make for a great storyline heading into the 2021 Call of Duty League, though.
