The possible final season for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is just on the horizon. Season 6 is reportedly the final season for Modern Warfare, with Infinity Ward only planning to update the game a few months after Black Ops Cold War launches. Warzone will continue on with the new title but the seasons will likely be reset. Previously, we didn’t know when Season 6 would begin. However, thanks to an accidental tweet from the Minnesota Rokkr, we now have confirmation for the last iteration.
Modern Warfare Season 6 to begin soon
While this does appear to be a slight confirmation, Activision still hasn’t stated the release date for Season 6. So things could definitely change at the last minute, September 29 seems to be the date fans are looking forward to. The Rokkr tweeted out this date in order to promote their Warzone tournament.
A Call of Duty League franchise, it’s safe to say the Rokkr has some inside knowledge about the Season 6 start date. Their tweet states “Celebrate the start of Call of Duty (Modern Warfare) Season 6…” Before promoting any tournament, the organization would need to get the thumbs up from Activision. Again, it’s not a direct confirmation, but it might as well be since Activision clearly gave the Rokkr the September 29 date.
In terms of what we could see in Season 6, Infinity Ward looks to be going all-out. We’ve seen multiple weapons leaked, such as the AA-12 and R900, as well as some developing Warzone storylines. If the September 29 release date is correct, then it’s likely we’ll get half of this content at the start of the season and the rest around early October. That then leaves one month for fans to enjoy Modern Warfare before Black Ops Cold War releases on November 13.
