Swedish esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) announced a partnership Wednesday with Premier League soccer club, Leeds United. Under the new partnership, NiP will align with the club to promote FIFA esports and take part in the recently announced third season of ePremier League, the UK-leg of the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Global Series competition.
While cross-promotion across both organizations is expected, no details were revealed at the time of writing. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
NiP CEO Hicham Chahine said in a release that his organization chose Leeds United because it was ready to go “deep into esports” and collaborate on “integrating efforts on sports performance, fan activation, and commercialization.”
NiP also fields rosters and players in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, Dota 2, PUBG, and operates a Rainbow Six Siege team in Brazil.
