Rocket League maker Psyonix announced Friday that Verizon has signed on as the official 5G sponsor of the North American Rocket League Championship Series X (RLCS X).
Financial terms were not disclosed, and it is unclear at the time of writing beyond being named a sponsor what the telecommunications company’s level of involvement will be in terms of providing technology, sponsoring broadcast segments, activations, or other activities will be.
Earlier this week Verizon announced a partnership with Twitch to become the official 5G and 4G LTE network partner of Twitch Rivals North America. In January, it partnered with Twitch, the NFLPA, and TurboTax to present the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl.
Verizon also signed a partnership with FaZe Clan in July to become its official 5G and 4G LTE network and a similar deal with the League of Legends Championship Series in June.
