XiaosaGe Retires After Impressive CS:GO Professional Career

A great CS:GO player is moving on from the pro scene.

Peng “XiaosaGe” Song announced his exit from the Invictus roster and his retirement from all professional CS:GO activities. The 31-year old cited “age and physical reasons” for his retirement. He claimed he would not be taking coaching, managing, or any other role for any team.

XiaosaGe’s last performance as a CS:GO pro was the first-place finish in the Hot Pot Master’s Championship.

The Chinese player’s five-year CS:GO career started in 2016 playing for UYA. He then garnered his first tournament championship the next year in the China Internet Gaming 2016 where he won $29,000. This was his biggest win in terms of prize money.

He joined 5Power Gaming in late 2017 with whom he won many championships. He got his first international exposure in the 2017 ROG Masters Grand Finals.

After that, XiaosaGe continued to play mostly in Chinese and Asian tournaments. His tournament wins with 5Power included the Legends Series: China, the Douyu Super League – Fall 2018, Asian Development League 2019 and the HuyaTV Sharpshooter Cup Season 1. He reached his highest world ranking with 5Power: No.47 in the HLTV world team rankings.

He moved to Invictus Gaming in April 2020 after a short stint with Rising-Stars in late 2019. Here, he continued his winning ways with Invictus from 2020 to 2021, notching second places in the Weibo Cup Asia Professional Championship 2020 and the Perfect World Asia League Summer 2020. After that, he also took home first place in the Asian Champions League and the aforementioned Hot Pot Master’s Championship.

XiaosaGe bid farewell with the following statement: “Since 2017, I have known a lot of good friends, have a lot of happy memories. I also want to thank everyone who accompanied me all the way, all the best in your future endeavors, and finally wish my old teammates better and better results.”
