Music has always been an important facet of gaming, but no more so than in Final Fantasy 14. With the recent release of Endwalker, Final Fantasy fans were treated to the main theme of the game once again as they sat waiting in seemingly never-ending login queues trying to access the FF14 servers.
This might mean you’re already sick of hearing Answers, but if you’re not, then we have some good news. Susan Calloway, the singer and musician who plays Answers, will put on a live performance online next week.
The performance will be live on Calloway’s Facebook Group, which you can sign up to join here. Precise details on when the performance will occur were not disclosed, so we’ll have to keep refreshing Calloway’s social media profiles to get the exact timing.
As for the long login queues, that's something Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida has acknowledged as being unavoidable given the game's immense popularity but limited server space. That said, Yoshida-san has at least apologized and is even offering a week of free game time to compensate for everyone's aggravation.
"Considering that we are asking players to wait in queues for extremely long periods of time and the ongoing situation making it difficult to play normally, we have decided that during the official release of Endwalker on December 7, we will be granting 7 days of free game time to all players who own the full version of the game and have an active subscription," wrote Yoshida-san. "We truly appreciate your cooperation and patience regarding the congestion situation."
To commemorate Endwalker's arrival, one FF14 fan created a keychain that shows the timeless message of just how many more players have to leave before you can experience the new expansion. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot.
