The new Call of Duty Black Ops 4 update, complete with full Zombies expansion, is coming to Xbox One and PC today.
While everything needed for the new expansion pack is already downloaded, developers Treyarch will be providing access to much of it for the first time on Xbox and PC in the coming hours.
The official Call of Duty social media pages have confirmed what new content will be arriving on PC and Xbox One today, along with new bonuses coming to PS4.
Operation Apocalypse Z Rising will be released on Xbox One and PC, alongside the Alpha Omega content, while Reaper returns to Blackout.
The specialist was removed earlier in July due to an issue preventing Reaper’s footstep audio from playing properly.
For those that might not have played Black Ops 3, Reaper is an experimental war robot that will have added abilities focused on heavy assault and disruption in Bo4.
Another big bonus coming this week but not going live today will be the Double-Double Weekend, offering Double XP and Double Weapon XP across multiplayer modes.
This new event will no doubt prove popular with COD fans and will be starting on Friday, July 19.
Today’s Black Ops 4 launch doesn’t have a set release time but is expected to go live around 6pm in the UK.
There could be a change in timing but this would only mean that today’s new content would go live a little earlier, rather than being delayed.
There may even be a small update to download, due to any bugfixes or small changes made to the game over the past week.
In a post shared by Treyarch, other featured content coming this week includes Alpha Omega in Zombies, Sticks and Stones in multiplayer, threes Black Ops Pass MP maps, new Blackout map updates and Nightfall descending on Alcatraz.
Black Ops 4 Pass owners on Xbox One and PC will also get access to the Alpha Omega Zombies expansion, which has been available to play on PS4 for the past week.
“Following the events of “Classified” and “Blood of the Dead”, the Primis and Ultimis crews travel to a secret Broken Arrow facility at Nuketown,” a message from Treyarch explains.
“This gameplay space, which is 400% larger than “Nuketown Zombies”, features both familiar nostalgia and new elements. In “Alpha Omega”, players will face new enemies, including Jolting Jacks and Nova 6 Bombers that are deadlier evolutions of the Nova 6 Crawlers from “Kino Der Toten”.
“Plus, you’ll fight against a new special round foe, the Lightning Hounds. As the Aether story heads toward an epic conclusion, “Alpha Omega” works to unravel the mysteries of the beginning and the end.”
