Call of Duty Modern Warfare fans will no doubt be aware that earlier this week the team at Infinity Ward promised they had a big update planned for the game.
And then on Tuesday players on PS4, Xbox One and PC did indeed get an update. This, however, was just a mere hotfix for the game and not a full shebang players were expecting.
Something which, Infinity Ward themselves, have clarified.
Ashton Williams, Infinity Ward’s senior communications manager, took to Twitter to explain to fans that the patch released on Tuesday was just the start.
"We have an update coming out in the next few days that includes fixes to perks, private match options, weapons, and more."
Earlier today Williams also teased fans that Infinity Ward were putting the final touches on this upcoming update, saying:
"Finalizing notes for “the big update” you all keep asking about. Notes are a little over two pages long. Lots of good stuff in here."
It's not clear yet if this update will be another 1.09 patch or if the upcoming update is in fact 1.10, but we're sure that will become clear in the coming hours/days.
That said, a reply by Williams to one fan did state that what was released earlier this week was an "In-game patch. Not a title update." So we suspect that the next update will still be version 1.09 of the game.

Previously Infinity Ward had released updates fairly late at night, but as we saw with the 1.09 update earlier this week, the developer returned to the 'usual' release times.
Equally the last time an update was hinted at by Ashton Williams, saying it was released, pretty much the same day.
So we wouldn't be surprised to see the update released this afternoon at around 6pm GMT for those playing in the UK.
For anyone elsewhere in the world, that's roughly 12PM ET – 1PM ET.
Should the update arrive this afternoon, we can likely expect patch notes to be released at the same time.
Normally these will be posted to the games official Reddit page. But Ashton Williams also shares them on her Twitter account, so it's worth giving her a follow as well.
Otherwise hang tight and we'll have all the details as they're released right here on Daily Star.
For the time being, you can remind yourself of the changes Infinity Ward made to the game earlier this week on the below patch notes shared Tuesday.
