Master Chief's estranged brother Doom Slayer is set to be making an appearance in Fortnite according to new reports from the XboxEra podcast.
Nick 'Shpeshal' Baker alleges that Microsoft and Bethesda are going to be bringing more of their characters to Epic Games' hit battle royale following the success of the Halo crossover. However, Baker wouldn't elaborate on the full list, only mentioning Doom Slayer, but it should be said that he also doesn't know when they'll arrive in Fortnite, so it might not be as soon as next season.
Naruto was rumoured to be appearing as far back as May but that didn't come to fruition until November, half a year later. Doom Slayer could be in a similar boat, so expect more leaks, teases, rumours, and speculation to run rampant in the coming months as fans scramble to find proof of the hell-trawling FPS icon. After him, Fortnite would only need Gordon Freeman to complete the original trio. Valve collaborating with Epic would be historical.
"Microsoft's had the Gears characters, Master Chief, and I've been told that there will be more Microsoft/Bethesda characters coming to Fortnite," Baker said. "Now I'm not going to spoil all of them – there's only one that I'm going to mention because I have a friend that's a massive, massive fan of this franchise and that is Doom. I got told that the Doom Slayer is coming to Fortnite.
"I don't know timelines, especially with Fortnite. There are always licensing deals to work out within Fortnite – we heard rumours about Naruto back in May 2021, and when did Naruto actually arrive? Six months later. It can take a while."
Perhaps we'll eventually see the Dragonborn and Corvo leaping from the battle bus to gun down Kratos. But for now, you can play as Boba Fett who just got added to commemorate the release of his very own show on Disney+ – the Book of Boba Fett. The first episode is out now as of today.
