Fortnite hasn't always been about Battle Royale.
Fortnite Save the World was the games original incarnation. A PVE experience that you actually had to pay for.
For some time it's been rumoured that Save The World was going free to play, but nothing ever materialised. In fact it was as far back as 2018, why Epic pulled the plug we'll never know.
However, it seems that with the launch of Season 11, it might just be about to.
Several reports indicate that on digital stores, Save the World can no longer be purchased.
"The #Fortnite: Save the World – Standard Founders Pack is no longer available for purchase on the Xbox Store. Perhaps it will finally be free to play?" wrote on Fortnite influencer.

As you might imagine, with the Fortnite Blackout shutting the game down, it's also not accesible at the time of writing.
There's also reports about Save the World coming to Nintendo Switch, although how true that is remains to be seen. We wouldn't rule it out though.
Likely we'll discover more in the next couple of hours when the game comes back online.
In other news, Ask PlayStation, the PS4 support account on Twitter has confirmed that you don't need to worry about losing any of your V-Bucks, whatever happens.
The team wrote:
"Epic is aware of the Fortnite Blackout. Please be assured that your inventory items and V-Bucks are secure. Please reach out to Epic for more details."
Stay tuned for updates.
