After all the portals appeared in Fortnite the first Stranger Things-related extras are now available – starting with a Chief Hopper skin.
It probably hasn’t escaped your notice, but season 3 of Stranger Things is now available on Netflix.
There’s actually a whole tie-in game for consoles, but because it’s riddled with spoilers it wasn’t sent out early for review – so that will have to wait a few days.
What is available now though is a bunch of new skins in Fortnite, after a crossover was first teased between the two by the appearance of a bunch of Stranger Things style portals.
At the moment though all the crossover has brought is a Demogorgon outfit that costs 1,200 V-Buck, a Chief Hopper outfit that’s 1,500 V-Buck, and a Vines Wrap weapon skin.
That’s a bit anti-climatic after going to the trouble of adding the portals, but it’s possible that a limited time mode may be added later – perhaps after a few days, once everyone gets a chance to watch the episodes.
There’s also some new Independence Day paraphernalia at the moment, including a fireworks skin and a very patriotic looking ranger skin, but they’re not anything to do with Stranger Things – it’s just that the season happened to launch on 4 July.
Fortnite has a long history of promoting films, if not TV shows, having previously offered up Avengers-related skins and game modes, as well as tie-ins to John Wick.
