Fortnite Valentine’s Event 2020: Release date, start time for Share the Love

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 might have lost some favour with fans in the months it's been out, but that doesn't seem to be dampening Epic's desire to keep the game alive.

The current season saw its end date get pushed back until February 15, 2020 – extending Chapter 2, Season 1 for a while longer than other Seasons we've seen so far.

That likely means we can expect to see a Valentine's event transition us from Chapter 1 to Chapter 2.

Last year saw the event – called Share the Love – go live, and a series of 'Overtime Challenges' were added to the game, too.

Can we expect the same this year? It's almost certain we'll see Share the Love, or something similar, return.

Share the Love – Start Date

In 2019, the Share the Love event kicked off on February 8 and ran all the way through until February 27.

We reckon it might come earlier this year, and run up until Valentine's Day – the Season is due to end the day after the love-filled day, after all.

We posit that the event may start earlier, instead – ramping up from maybe the end of January and running up until Valentine's Day itself (February 14).

Epic hasn't shared any details on this just yet, but we'll be sure to keep you updated as more information presents itself.

Share the Love – Double XP Weekends?

Back in 2019, players could log into the game over the course of the event to earn more experience than they usually would.

Players received double XP for the weekends of February 15-17 and 22-24.

It stands to reason that we'd see something similar again this year – especially if Epic wants to make it up to gamers that are miffed this Season has gone on longer than expected.

A double XP weekend or two would be a nice way to help players unlock all the new Valentine's items that may be introduced, too…

We'll keep you updated as we hear more about the inevitable update from Epic.
