I used The Sims 4 to make my apartment perfect

I was 10 years old when The Sims 2 was released, making me the perfect age to play around in the game, imagining what my life might be as an adult. Perhaps a successful doctor? A mogul living in a mansion?

And now that I’ve succeeded in becoming a D-list internet video producer living in a grungy apartment in New York City, I’ve realized that this “wish fulfillment” gameplay strategy was not very productive. I should have been doing an experiment.

I’ve fixed my error by revisiting The Sims franchise as a 25-year-old. I recreated myself and my current apartment in the standard version of The Sims 4 (I didn’t want Simulated Brian to accidentally become something ridiculous like a wizard or a college student), and I ran trials to see how I could perfect my living situation.

After that, I recreated my simulated, perfected apartment in real life.
