Minecraft is the best-selling game of all time, so it should come as no surprise that much like Pokemon, if there's something the game's name can be slapped on, it's going to happen. That's why you can now get official Minecraft ice cream. Well, you will be able to soon, but you might want to act fast.
Minecraft revealed it has teamed up with Nicks, an ice cream company famed for its Swedish-style version of the dessert. If you don't know what makes Swedish-style ice cream different from the sweet treat elsewhere in the world, you're probably not alone. At first glance it looks like the difference is it comes in small, Minecraft-appropriate blocks, but apparently not.
In fact, it remains unclear if the ice cream even comes in those blocks once inside the tub. On the one hand that would fit the Minecraft theme, but on the other, it means valuable ice cream space inside those tubs is going to waste. According to the Nicks website, what actually makes Swedish ice cream different from other types is it's not as bad for you. “It retains all the creaminess of traditional ice cream and you would never know it's better-for-you,” the site reads.
As for its upcoming Minecraft connection, the video game-themed ice cream comes in four appropriate flavors. Cake Blocker, Enchanted Apple Pie, Emerald Minta, and Peanut Choklad Glowdust. You can probably guess how some of those flavors will taste, whereas exactly what Cake Blocker might taste like is up for speculation.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if these flavors will be available to all in stores around the world. There's a page set up where Minecraft players who want to try them out need to sign up, and even that won't guarantee you a tub as there's only a limited quantity available. The ice cream would have been the perfect treat to eat while watching the Minecraft movie, but despite Jason Momoa recently signing up for the project, it's still unclear whether it will even still happen.
