Nintendo Indie World predictions: Hollow Knight Silksong, Ori, Shantae, Disco Elysium

Nintendo Indie World stream is being broadcast today with Nintendo Switch fans finding out about some of the big indie games releasing in 2020. The next Nintendo Direct broadcast will be airing on Tuesday March 17 at 5pm UK time and the stream is set to last for around 20 minutes. The House of Mario has not confirmed what games will appear during the Indie World broadcast but Hollow Knight Silksong could be the big announcement.

The sequel to Team Cherry’s critically acclaimed Metroidvania adventure is set for a release date in 2020.

Leaks have claimed Hollow Knight Silksong will be launching on June 12 so we may get an update on the highly anticipated title in the next Direct.

Another game which could feature in the upcoming Indie World presentation is Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

The first Ori game, a former Xbox One console exclusive, launched on the Nintendo Switch last year.

So it wouldn’t be a surprise for Nintendo and Xbox Game Studios to strike up a deal which sees the new Moon Studios offering also come to the Switch.

Another indie hit which could feature in the upcoming Nintendo Direct is Shantae and the Seven Sirens.

The latest Shantae game is pencilled in for a 2020 release on the Nintendo Switch, with developers WayForward in December giving an update.

On Twitter they posted: “Hey, everyone! Development on Shantae and the Seven Sirens for Console/PC (and Apple Arcade Part 2) is nearly finished!

“We’ve moved the release window to Spring 2020, but promise it will be worth the wait! Thank you for your support!”

  • Legend of Zelda fans could get big Breath of the Wild 2 news soon

This is when a brand new game is announced during a Direct and the release date comes on the same day.

It remains to be seen what could be the surprise announcement in the upcoming Nintendo Indie World presentation.

But one reveal that would surely go down a treat would be a port of Disco Elysium.

Disco Elysium is a critically acclaimed RPG that launched late last year on PCs, with PS4 and Xbox One releases confirmed for 2020.

As of yet, the Nintendo Switch has not been confirmed as getting a port of the detective RPG from devs and publishers ZA/UM.

But, if Disco Elysium is coming to the Switch, then the perfect place to announce it would be in the upcoming Indie World broadcast.

It remains to be seen if any of the above does get announced in the upcoming Nintendo Direct.

But fans don’t have to wait too long to find out for certain, with the stream starting in a few hours at 5pm UK time today.

The news of the upcoming Indie World broadcast was announced on Nintendo social accounts at the start of the week.

The @NintendoUK Twitter posted: “An #IndieWorld showcase livestream is headed your way! Tune in 17/03 at 5pm (UK time) to check out about 20 minutes of information on indie games coming to #NintendoSwitch.”
