Nintendo’s Indie World showcase returning tomorrow, with a Direct to follow?

Nintendo will be holding another one of its Indie World Showcases tomorrow, which has sparked hopes that a Direct will come soon too.

While Nintendo is certainly doing well financially, fans have only been growing more and more irate over the lack of any new game announcements from the company.

Although there is still no sign of a new Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has instead announced that it will be holding another Indie World Showcase, which are all about highlighting indie games for the Nintendo Switch.

The showcase will take place tomorrow on Tuesday, 18 August at 5pm BST and run for approximately 20 minutes, though Nintendo didn’t provide any ideas as to which games will be featured.

The last indie showcase took place on 17 March, with that month’s Nintendo Direct Mini happening just over a week later.

The last Direct Mini was only a month ago, but that focused entirely on third-party games and wasn’t even 10 minutes long.

If a new Direct is going to take place, it’s quite likely that it will centre around Nintendo’s first-party games, such as the rumoured Super Mario 3D remasters.

As for recent announcements, Nintendo did reveal Pikmin 3 Deluxe, the latest Wii U game to receive an updated port to Switch, which will release this October.

There’s also the recent rumour that The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword is being remastered for the Switch.
