Overwatch 2’s Latest Patch Nerfs Roadhog, Sojourn, Orisa, And Kiriko

Blizzard has finally made good on the promise it made at the back end of last year, as Overwatch 2's latest patch has made Roadhog much less of a threat in terms of his damage. Roadhog is the primary focus of the game's most recent round of nerfs, although other characters sorely in need of a damage reduction like Sojourn have also been tweaked.

We'll start off with Roadhog first, as Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller definitely wasn't kidding when he promised damage nerfs were incoming. The biggest changes affect Roadhog's Chain Hook ability, which previously gave him the ability to one-shot certain Heroes. The impact damage of the ability has now been reduced from 30 to 5, while the distance between Roadhog and an opponent after they've been hooked has been increased from 3 to 4 meters. The damage of Roadhog's Scrap Gun has also been reduced to 6 per pellet, although recovery time, reload time, and maximum ammo have all been buffed slightly to make up for it.

Sojourn is another character that many complaints have been aimed towards recently, and this patch will also see her damage slightly nerfed as well. Her primary fire damage has been reduced from 10 to 9, while a change to Sojourn's Railgun means hitting an enemy with primary fire will now give her 5 energy instead of the energy gain being dictated by the overall damage dealt.

Finally, Orisa and Kiriko have been nerfed slightly, the former having their Fortify health bonus reduced from 125 to 75. The latter's Healing Ofuda has now been nerfed as well, as recovery time has been increased from 0.85 to 1 second. These nerfs seem to have gone down pretty well with fans, although some think that nerfs to Sojourn may not have gone far enough. We'll see how these affect the game, but at least you won't have to deal with rampaging Roadhogs that much anymore.
