Piofiore: Episodio 1926 has up to six different romantic routes to choose from. Each has multiple endings. Some endings may lead to your death while others lead to a happy ever after. Choosing the right dialogue options are actually harder than it seems, though. Gilbert is the second main Best Ending route in the game, and his story has around three different endings.

This is a quick guide to show you what options you need to pick to get Gilbert's True Ending. Bad endings in the previous game, Piofiore: Fated Memories, were brutal enough, so you'll want to give your heroine the best life possible — even though she's tied to the mafia.

To find the right path when replaying a route, make sure to select the Chapter Jump menu at the start menu.

Dialogue choices you made in the past will appear as purple text. White text means that you have not chosen that dialogue option yet.

Beware of spoilers for the complete story ahead!

Chapter One – A Bad Apple

Choice One

  • I'm sorry I kept it a secret.

Gilbert knows something is up between the heroine and Oliver and suggests she fess up. There's no reason to lie to Gilbert here. He teases you here either way, but a healthy relationship means keeping no secrets!

Choice Two

  • I'm sorry.

The heroine bumps into Eugene in the streets. Eugene tries to hit on her. Obviously, you're taken. Gilbert wouldn't take kindly to you being hesitant to say no to another man trying to date you. Not to mention the relationship Gilbert already has with Eugene. Ignore Eugene's advances.

Choice Three

  • Has something happened?

Gilbert returns to the heroine, who notices something off. It's always best to ask your loved ones if they are okay when you notice something off. Regardless, some people will need their space. No matter your choice here, Gilbert will put on a face for you. The important thing is that at least you asked.

Choice Four

  • I'm looking forward to it.

Gilbert promises to have a nice dinner with the heroine. Telling him not to push himself too hard is kind of insulting. Though it may be a weakness of his, now is not the time to put it in his face. Explaining that you're excited about the plans will put a smile on his face.

Chapter Two – When It Rains, It Pours

Choice One

  • (Go to the refectory)

After a long night, the heroine sees a light on the back of the church. No matter what you choose here, the immediate outcome is the same. You end up waking in the night to noise in the back of the church and find Sister Sofia injured with Orlok. The only difference is that you checked on Sister Sofia beforehand, which is in good favor.

Choice Two

  • I'm happy you came.

Gilbert visits the heroine at the church after Sister Sofia's attack. Not tackling Gilbert into a warm embrace when he visits you during tough times isn't the worst thing. He doesn't take it personally that you ask why he's there, but the loving and high-affinity answer is to just be grateful.

Choice Three

  • (Refuse his request)

The heroine bumps into Eugene again and he tries once more to hit on her. Once again, you will want to ignore Eugene. By this point, you know that he is Gilbert's deadbeat dad. Even if he wasn't, it's best to ignore a strange guy that won't stop hitting on you. Going forward, you'll want to stray far from this man.

Choice Four – IMPORTANT

  • (Protect Elena)

The bodyguards protecting the heroine and Elena instantly die. If you try to run away here, you instantly die as well and the game ends. You are the target of this attack, so running will only trigger the assassins to chase and kill you. By staying put and protecting Elena, Orlok will come out and save you two.

Choice Five

  • Yes.

Gilbert proposes the heroine live with him for a while instead of at the church, due to the hitmen being after her. There's no reason to second guess living with your significant other during strange times. He will be delighted at your enthusiasm to go with him.

Chapter Three – In Hot Water

Choice One

  • I understand.

Gilbert tells the heroine about his relationship with his father, Eugene. Video games or not, you know not to mess with family relationships. Whatever a person feels about their family member is their valid feelings, you can't get between them. Gilbert made his decision long ago and there's no point assuming it can be fixed. Believe him.

Choice Two

  • You know the answer.

Yuan interrupts a chat with The Visconti and the twins from The Lao-Shu. If you don't speak, Gilbert will proclaim that you're no longer the key maiden. If you do speak, you proclaim it yourself. There is no harm in speaking up for yourself and letting Yuan know you're not some naive girl.

Choice Three

  • (Stayed beside the guard)

A local woman tries to speak with one of the heroine's bodyguards about personal matters. The bodyguard asks if it's alright to hear the woman out. Whether you attempt to go back to the manor or not, someone will pickpocket you and Luca will chase after him in a dangerous pursuit. Of course, the safest option anyway would be to stay with the guard.

Chapter Four – Turning Point

Choice One

  • I'm just worried about you.

Oliver reveals that the cops are on The Visconti's trail and Gilbert will soon need to go on trial. Explaining that you're worried about him will warm his heart more as you talk about how you care for him.

Choice Two

  • You're always worrying me.

After a long day, Gilbert speaks with the heroine at her bedroom door and asks if she's worried about him. Once again, speaking on your true feelings will flatter Gilbert. You aren't giving him crap, you're explaining that you want him safe because you love him.

Choice Three

  • …Are serious about things?

Dante and Gilbert discuss the recent raids and arrests by police officers made against mafia members. No matter what you say here, the boys will discuss the possibility and move on to the next set of plans. The difference is that if you ask if the police are provoking, they will say "probably." If you ask if the police are serious, they will go into more detail in confirmation.

You'll know you're on the wrong track if Chapter Five is titled Lose Your Touch. This is the bad ending.

Chapter Five – Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining – TRUE

Choice One

  • (Hold his hand)

Gilbert debriefs the heroine on his plans to secure a place in Chicago. Both are emotional and cute, of course. A kiss is expected and doesn't say a lot in this situation. He smiles and moves on. If you hold his hand instead, he asks surprised and the interaction is more sensual and meaningful.

Choice Two – IMPORTANT

  • No.

Eugene makes a call for the heroine and asks her to meet him somewhere, in the name of helping Gilbert. If you agree to Eugene's plans, you end up dying and the game is over. Eugene means to use you as bait and have you killed. The answer is no.

Choice Three

  • I'm very sorry.

Gilbert enters the heroine's room and discusses the events of the meeting and fight between Yuan and the other mafia members. These options aren't strong. You just don't want to accuse Gilbert of being upset, because of course he isn't. He's in love!

Chapter Six – Make Waves – TRUE

At the end of your True path, Yuan spares the Burlone mafia, Eugene gets freed, and the couple set off to Chicago. It's the perfect ending. Gilbert is done with Burlone but will keep some men in town for Luca and Dante. Gilbert gets Eugene's drugs from Yuan and plans to enter Chicago with a sorry gift to the mafia there.

As you may have seen, by running with Elena or by meeting up with Eugene, you will die early in the game. Another bad ending can be obtained during a shoot-out between Dante, Gilbert, and Yuan in an alley. Yuan's men will hit the heroine hard enough that she ultimately forgets her memory. She remembers nothing about joining the mafia, just her life previously. Regardless of her memory loss, Gilbert ends up visiting her in the hospital every day with flowers. The bad ending for Chapter Six is titled Out Of The Woods.
