PS4 Surprise UPDATE: Download these FREE PlayStation game bonuses today

PS4 gamers have a great choice of free downloads to choose from in the PlayStation Store this weekend.

Not only are there plenty of trials and demos to try out but fans have a steadily growing list of free-to-play PlayStation 4 titles to download too.

Unlike last week, there’s a great choice of new content in the PS Store, including some enticing looking demos.

This includes the new Dragon Quest Builders 2 demo from Square Enix, which gives fans of the first game their first chance at testing out the sequel.

The full game is scheduled to launch on PS4 later in July and is sure to be a big seller among its dedicated fanbase.

The demo provides a great first look at the new Dragon Quest Builders setting, and the download is easy to install as well.

Weighing in at less than 2GB, the new RPG adventure title has an age rating of 7+, making it a good choice for younger gamers.

As the full version has yet to be released, we don’t have any ratings or reviews to rank it by.

However, PSN players have given the Dragon Quest Builders 2 demo a solid 5/5 rating, based on over 150 contributors.

The official PlayStation Store page warns that there are optional in-game purchases available, although this might not include the demo experience.

“Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a block-building role-playing game: don’t let the name fool you, despite the 2, this is a completely standalone experience featuring new characters, an expansive world, unlimited building combinations, and a storyline that’s sure to satisfy longtime fans and newcomers alike,” the official game description reads.

“The evil Children of Hargon are determined to eradicate all creators and have outlawed the building, cooking, and creation of all things. In an attempt to spread their destructive dogma, the calamitous cult captures the builders of the world.

“All hope seems to be lost until you, a young apprentice builder, manage to escape from the clutches of evil.

“After washing up on the shores of the deserted Isle of Awakening, you encounter the spirited Malroth, a mysterious youth with no memory of his past. With the help of your fearless new friend, you embark on a grand adventure to gather the skills required to become a full-fledged builder, but the road you build is paved with peril.

“Only you can defeat the Children of Hargon, uncover the secrets of Malroth’s past, and unravel the riddles of this mysterious land.”

According to the demo description, fans can “choose to adventure from the beginning, captured by the Children of Hargon, or explore an unsettled frontier with the Isle of Awakening.”

As it suggests, players have a nice broad scope of gameplay to choose from in the demo, which makes for a pleasant change in pace.

There have been no warnings over it being a timed version, meaning Dragon Quest fans should have plenty of time to explore the game content available.

And if Block-Building games aren’t your thing, there are plenty of alternative titles available to try for free this weekend. On the demo side, the most recent additions to the PS4 library include Attack on Titan 2, Queen’s Quest 3 and Rainbow Skies.

And if you were looking for something a little bigger, there are a few other options too. The Firewall Zero Hour Free Trial for PlayStation VR is an option if you own the right hardware.

This will be available download until Monday, July 1 and comes with the added bonus of keeping your progress if you decide to purchase the full version.

The downside is that you will need a PSVR headset and an active PS Plus membership to play. The game can be found on the PlayStation Store and takes up around 11GB of PlayStation 4 hard drive space.

Another option is to download and play the Monster Hunter World Iceborne open beta. This also finishes on Monday and will be a must for many PS4 gamers looking for something new to try.
