With Destruction AllStars finally releasing for the PS5 next month, eager fans can expect a bevy of new information soon.
Despite being initially intended as a PlayStation 5 launch game, before it was delayed, there’s still not a lot of information about Destruction AllStars.
With its release now scheduled for February, though, developer Lucid Games is promising a lot of new details in the run-up to launch.
‘We’ve got a lot in store for you ahead of our release next month on PlayStation Plus!’ it says on the studio’s official Twitter, alongside a very brief clip of old gameplay to remind people that it’s all about crashing cars into other cars.
Destruction AllStars can be described as a vehicular combat game, like Twisted Metal, but when a car is destroyed, the driver can run around the arena and has access to their own unique abilities.
Trailers for the game so far have been heavily edited, so fans have yet to see what a full match looks like.
Considering the heavy multiplayer focus and the promise of additional free content down the line, Destruction AllStars seems to be aiming at becoming the automotive equivalent to the likes of Overwatch and Apex Legends.
Being free on PlayStation Plus certainly makes much more sense than expecting people to pay £70 for an untested new IP, but it would still be nice to get some proper details of what it’s about before launch.
Destruction AllStars releases exclusively for PlayStation 5 in February.
