Shroud gets half a million viewers in first day back on Twitch

Despite being away for months, Shroud has found it easy to slip back into streaming on Twitch, as he almost breaks Ninja’s viewer record.

Shroud is back streaming exclusively on Twitch and considering how things went on his comeback stream he’s likely to stay there for a long time to come.

He started streaming at 7pm on Wednesday evening and reached a peak viewer count of 516,289. That’s not far off the 600,000+ record of Ninja and shows that Shroud is now more popular than ever.

Almost 3 million people watched at one point or another during the night, with an average of 222,888 on at any one time.

While at Mixer, Shroud (real name Michael Grzesiek) found audience figures fell by two-thirds, as did Ninja.

One of the reasons both of them have been able to get back into gear on Twitch so quickly is that all their subscribers have remained attached to their accounts, which means 7 million people in Shroud’s case.

Other streamers that were poached to appear on Mixer have also found themselves back at Twitch recently, with Soleil ‘Ewok’ Wheeler also signing a new exclusive contract.

The 14-year-old Fortnite player started back last night as well, and saw a peak viewership of 30,000. Which is nothing to be sniffed at given she ‘only’ has 285,000 followers.
