The remaster of Rebellion’s stealthy WWII shooter will be out next month, with discounted pre-orders starting from today.
It’s going to be a busy couple of years for the Sniper Elite franchise, after creators Rebellion announced four new releases back in March.
One of those is a new numbered sequel, which won’t be revealed properly until next year, and another was a separate VR entry which will be revealed later this year.
But before all that is Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, which is going to be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 14 May.
To mark the release date annoucement there’s a new trailer comparing the remastered and original versions, with new 4K and HDR support plus update 3D models, textures, and lighting.
There’s also a new frame-by-frame photo mode, expanded multiplayer for up to 16 players online (eight on Switch), and seven new playable characters from Rebellion’s Zombie Army series.
Rebellion are taking pre-orders now on PlayStation 4 and PC, while Xbox and Switch pre-orders will start from 24 April. The remaster has a £29.99 price tag but there’s a 10% discount on the digital edition, or you can upgrade to the new version for £6.99 if you already own the original PC edition.
A version of Sniper Elite III for the Switch is also planned for release this year, but there’s no specific release date for that yet.
