The return of the Scott Pilgrim tie-in game was but one of the announcements from the latest Ubisoft Forward event.

During the showcase, the publisher announced that it will be re-releasing Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game this Christmas.

If you’re wondering why people are making such a big deal over a simple side-scrolling beat ‘em up, that was made to tie in with the movie, it’s because this game not only has quite a dedicated fanbase, but it’s been missing for six years.

Originally releasing in 2010, the game was a digital-only release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and was delisted in 2014 for licensing reasons.

Since then, there has been a high demand from fans, and those who never got a chance to play it, for Ubisoft to re-release the game. Even Bryan Lee O’Malley, creator of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels, has wanted it.

So with this year being the 10th anniversary of both the game and movie’s release, Ubisoft has decided to use the opportunity to release a complete edition of the game.

Aside from the base game, where up to four players can work together to take to the streets and help Scott defeat his new girlfriend’s seven evil exes, you will also get access to the extra character DLC for Knives and Wallace, bringing the character roster to seven.

The game will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Stadia, though it will still be a digital only title. Hopefully, Ubisoft won’t delist it again in a few years.

Aside from that, Ubisoft’s other big announcement was the remake of Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, although this had been leaked prior to the event.

Watch Dogs: Legion received two new trailers confirming additional playable characters, fan-favourite (?) Aiden Pierce from the first game and rapper Stormzy.

Rainbow Six: Siege’s next season was teased with an animated trailer featuring guest star Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell series, and the game was confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as well.

The revamped Gods & Monsters also got a new trailer and gameplay footage, under its new name of Immortals Fenyx Rising. It’s coming to current and next gen platforms on 3 December.

A massive multiplayer online extreme sports game called Riders Republic, featuring snowboarding, downhill cycling, skiing, and more, was announced and is already confirmed for a 25 February release date.

Agos: A Game Of Space was revealed as a VR title, and will launch on 28 October for Oculus Rift, Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality.

Numerous other titles also had updates regarding upcoming new content, such as For Honor, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and The Division 2.

Ahead of the presentation, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also addressed the recent controversies regarding workplace toxicity and sexual harassment, which led to many employees leaving the company, including a few executives.
