World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight – How To Get The Otto Mount

Otto the Ottuk was a secret mount added in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight and players have discovered how to get him. This oversized otter is perfect for fans of the Tuskarr, or those who simply enjoy collecting mounts.

The Otto mount uses the same model as other Ottuk mounts, such as the Brown Scouting Ottuk, Ivory Trader’s Ottuk, and the Yellow Scouting Ottuk. However, Otto has his own unique colour, a light blue tint that gives him a frosty appearance, which is perfect for exploring the Azure Span. Let's go over how to find him in this guide.

How To Get The Otto Mount

To begin your journey, you’ll need to collect an item from The Great Swog. This glorious creature is found in a cave within the Ohn'ahran Plains. The item you need is a toy called Aquatic Shades. This toy is a guaranteed drop from the Immaculate Sac of Swog Treasures, and it costs one Gold Coin of the Isles.

These coins can be fished up, or you can exchange other coins instead. For example, you can exchange 15 Copper Coins for one Silver Coin. You can then exchange 5 Silver Coins for one Gold Coin. So, you’ll need 75 Copper Coins to complete all the exchanges for one Gold Coin.

You can obtain all coins whilst fishing in the Dragon Isles.

You can also get Coins of the Isles by defeating Lunker creatures at fishing holes. Don’t forget your Iskaaran Harpoon! (These can be purchased on the Auction House if you don’t have one.) You’ll need Ominous Conch to spawn Lunkers. These can be fished up all around the Dragon Isles. You’ll need five to spawn a Lunker.

Unfortunately, the Ominous Conch items are soulbound, so they cannot be bought from other players.

To spawn a Lunker, head over to a Large Lunker Sighting. You’ll be able to spot these as they are large fish tails with hooks, seemingly made out of bone or wood by Tuskarr. When you stand near them, you can use Ominous Conch. A Lunker will then appear. They’ll be an elite creature such as a Gigantic Thresher.

You can use your Iskaaran Harpoon to drag them out of the water if you’re in a group. However, you cannot pull them out on your own. You are better off dealing as much damage as possible to kill them. They’ll also begin casting Going Deep… so you’ll need to trap them or interrupt the ability to keep them from fleeing.

Once you have your Aquatic Shades, head over to the Bubble Bath Dive Bar off the coast of the Waking Shores, north of the Obsidian Citadel. This underwater bar features a dance mat. Stand on it and you’ll start dancing, as well as receiving the Dance, Dance ‘Til You’re Dead buff. Simply wait for the buff to expire and you’ll appear back on the shore of the Hissing Grotto. Next to you there will be a barrel. When you interact with it, you’ll receive an Empty Fish Barrel.

You’ll now need to fill the barrel with fish. You must fill it in the following order:

  1. 100 Frigid Floe Fish. To find the Frigid Floe Fish, you will need to head over to Iskaara in the Azure Span. Begin fishing in the waters there. Once you collect 100 fish, use them to fill the barrel. It will now be a Half-Filled Fish Barrel.
  2. 25 Calamitous Carp. These fish are found in the lava around the Obsidian Citadel in the Waking Shores. They are quite rare so it will require patience! Once you have 25 of them, add them to the barrel and it will become a Brimming Fish Barrel.
  3. One Kingfin, the Wise Whiskerfish. Head over to the Alge’thar Academy in Thaldraszus and begin fishing in the pools. Once you collect Kingfin, use the barrel and it will become an Overflowing Fish Barrel.

Once you’ve finished filling the barrel, head back to the Hissing Grotto and place the barrel where you found it. Otto will show up and you’ll be able to complete his quest, The Way to an Otto’s Heart, which rewards the Otto mount.

A pretty cool Easter egg with this mount is that if you wear your Aquatic Shades whilst mounted on Otto, he’ll wear his own pair too!
