The trailer for Ninja Theory’s Bleeding Edge, which leaked late last week, ran as expected at Microsoft’s E3 2019 keynote. That means the technical alpha for the game is officially on for June 27 on PC.
Bleeding Edge is a multiplayer-focused game highlighting melee combat between its four-player teams. The trailer showcased an array of bizarre characters fighting in arenas set in a near-future dystopia, with extravagantly stylish weapons, both ranged and melee. Players may also take advantage of environmental hazards on the map to finish off their adversaries.
Microsoft acquired Ninja Theory, known for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and DmC: Devil May Cry, last year. It’s one of seven new studios (six by acquisition) working on games in-house for Microsoft’s Xbox and Windows 10 platforms. DmC’s combat director, Rahni Tucker, is working on this game, according to the trailer. Other than the technical alpha, no launch date was announced or confirmed.
