Borderlands remaster coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in April

Gearbox Software is bringing the original Borderlands — first released nearly a decade ago — to modern platforms. Titled Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, the remastered release is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One on April 3.

The package will include all of Borderlands’ DLC: The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution.

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will be a visually remastered version of the game, with upgraded lighting, character models, and textures. PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of the game support 4K resolution and HDR lighting.

Gearbox and co-developer Blind Squirrel Games are also adding some quality of life improvements to the Game of the Year edition, including a Borderlands 2-style minimap. The remaster will also support four-player split-screen co-op.

Other improvements coming in Borderlands: Game of the Year include a tougher final boss battle and new character customizations for Vault Hunters.
