The impossible happened. A Final Fantasy 8 remaster was announced during Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference. Final Fantasy 8 Remastered is coming with enhanced visuals in 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Final Fantasy 8 fans may remember the great Nintendo Direct snub of 2018, when Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 9, and Final Fantasy 10 were all getting Nintendo Switch ports (those game also came to other platforms). There’s speculation however, that FF8’s source code was lost when the studio started to work on its next title.
It’s perhaps one of the most divisive titles in the franchise. The plot doesn’t just take strange turns or twists — it develops into a full-on cyclone, devouring and destroying expectations as it rages across four PlayStation discs.
