Fortnite Chapter 2 is in full swing and one of the new features you might have overlooked in the game – but really shouldn't – is the new upgrade bench.
Players who've been enjoying Fortnite for some time might recall Fortnite vending machine, that allowed you to swap building materials for weapons.
Upgrade Benches are a bit like that
However, rather than buying a weapon available from a machine, you instead upgrade the rarity of any weapon you have equipped.
So let's say, it's getting towards the end of the game and you've only got some fairly bog-standard weapons, say tier green or maybe a blue what do you do?
Well if you find a bench you can get upgrade your existing weapons to a better tier that will do more damage, simply by trading in some of the building materials you don't need.
How do Upgrade Benches work?
As we mention, you need to trade in building materials to improve the rarity of your weapon. You can see precisely how much you need to trade in to improve your weapons, just below:
- Uncommon (Green) – 50 Wood, 50 Stone, 50 Metal.
- Rare (Blue) – 150 Wood, 150 Stone, 150 Metal.
- Epic (Purple) – 250 Wood, 250 Stone, 250 Metal.
- Legendary (Gold) – 350 Wood, 350 Stone, 350 Metal.
