Fortnite developer Epic Games has released a new update for Battle Royale. The first update of the new season is only a small one, which means no server downtime is required. The downside, however, is that the new hotfix doesn’t make any significant gameplay changes on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Android. The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside patch notes for update 4.0.
“We’ve released a maintenance patch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Android to address stability,” reads an Epic tweet.
“You will be able to download the patch before launching your game.”
As you can see from the Epic tweet, the update primarily improves stability on all platforms. This should make the game run smoother.
In a follow-up tweet, Epic confirmed that it fixed an issue that cropped up with the launch of Season 4.
“We have fixed the issue where ziplines did not have an instant interact time when being used by players,” Epic explained.

Titled Last Resort, Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 4 launched earlier this month on consoles and PC.
Featuring a Heist theme, the new season adds items such as the Heist Bag, which are full of handy weapons.
This includes the Rocket Ram, which can be used to launch players into the air and cause damage.
There’s also the Business Turret, which resembles a briefcase, but contains some powerful stationary guns within.
New points of interest include the Sanguine Suites, Relentless Retreat and Eclipsed Estate.
